Kindergarten - Grade 2
This class begins an acquaintance with the basics of our Biblical heritage by engaging in hands-on exploration of simple Bible stories and learning activities such as art and music, prayer and play. The curriculum explores the values and concepts of sharing, friendship, thankfulness, and respect for others and our environment. It helps to make connections between church and home, faith and life. Children are exposed to Biblical ancestors, the teachings of Jesus, and religions from around the world. Our goal is for children to develop a sense of belonging to a community of faith.
After attending the first part of Eliot’s worship, the grades K-2 classes will leave for Sunday school, where they will have class from approximately 10:15-11am.
Eliot Church’s Religious Education program and larger governing body is adopting a “Safe Church Policy" to ensure religious education and youth group activities at Eliot are safe for youth and adults. The safety and well-being of each and every child and adult at Eliot Church is the number one priority and goal of our church. Our Religious Education classes are a safe place where everyone is able to feel welcome, comfortable, and valued. The Safe Church Policy includes guidelines relating to topics such as “The Two Adult Rule,” an “Open Door Policy,” “Visibility,” “Touching,” “Field Trips” and more. The final Eliot Church Safe Church guidelines will be available for members to read after the September Parish Committee meeting.
