Spiritual Practices: Moving From Your Head into Your Heart
After Church Adult Forum led by Matt Carriker
May 20th in the church sanctuary following worship
Those of you who were at last Sunday's service know that the "16 Inch Journey" refers to moving from the head to the heart in the spiritual journey. One of the most effective ways to begin this process is to have a spiritual practice! In this after church adult forum led by Matt on May 20, there will be an introduction to spiritual practices (the what and why, and some examples), and some time to try out a practice or two! Please come whether you are just curious, whether you want to be fed spiritually, or whether you are looking for your own practice! Spiritual practices are an important part of Matt's spiritual life, and an even more important part of his larger calling and retreat-leading ministry for the Mass Conference UCC. Hope you can join us!
Caregiver Support Group Meeting
Monday, June 25 at 7 PM, Dah Mee Restaurant, Natick
Are you caring for a loved one either locally or long distance? Whether caring for an aging parent, a spouse, a sibling or a child, being a caregiver and having responsibilities that impact their health and their welfare will also impact your own. Taking care of yourself is critical as you care for others, and part of that care is an opportunity to be with and talk with others in similar situations. The Eliot Church Caregivers Support Group meets at a local restaurant for conversation, sharing resources and a fun break from caregiving. Our next gathering will be on Monday, June 25. Please note that June 4 has been cancelled. We will meet at Dah Mee Restaurant (Washington St). For further information please contact Adam or Donna Vuilleumier 781-801-5724 dvuilleumier@odsyhealth.com
Play Ball......on July 15 in Pawtucket
The Red Sox are off to another/better season with new players, a new manager and the 100th birthday of Fenway Park. Join us on July 15th for the 3rd annual Eliot Church trip to see the Pawtucket Red Sox and maybe catch a rising baseball star before he also heads off to Boston. The Paw Sox will be playing the Buffalo Bisons, the AAA affiliate of the New York Mets. Game time is 1:05 p.m. so we will leave/carpool after church for a fun afternoon of baseball. We have tickets to all sit together and will be out of the sun and with a great view of all the action. Tickets are $10 each and can be reserved by calling Donna Vuilleumier (781-801-5724) or by email rev-capt@comcast.net. Only 13 tickets left!
